The game started out in a manner similar to last night's contest,as the Bears would strike for the first goal of the game. Not long after EddiePasquale robbed Riley Barber with a glove save on a rebound chance, ChandlerStephenson won a faceoff in the defensive zone, and then took off with ChrisBourque. Stephenson got a beat onMorgan Ellis before centering, and from the middle slot, Bourque ripped his 26thgoal of the season past Pasquale.
The IceCaps earned their first power play of the game just afterthe first minute of the middle period, and connected to tie things up. Gabriel Dumont got position at the netfront and backhanded the rebound of Ellis' point shot past Justin Peters at2:59.
But the Bears would get the go-ahead marker on another cleanfaceoff win, this time by Nathan Walker. The puck slid to Sean Collins, who fed the left point. Burgdoerfer let a low shot go that slidthrough traffic and past Pasquale at 11:34 for the blueliner's fifth goal ofthe season.
In the third period, the Bears would kill off a two-man advantagefor St. John's and were about to head to another kill. But the IceCaps wouldn't need the manadvantage. With a bouncing pucksitting in front of two players, John Scott came flying in to jam the puckbehind Peters at 4:04 with Pasquale on the bench, tying the contest.
Entertaining hockey followed with the score deadlocked 2-2. The Bears finally broke through withthe go-ahead goal with just 1:05 left to play.
