November 11, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Ontario Reign News Release
Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), battle the San Jose Barracuda tonight on Military Appreciation Night presented by Ontario International Airport at 7:00 at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Tonight is the third of 12 meetings between the two teams this season.
Military Appreciation Night:
The Reign salute the men and women of the Armed Forces tonight on Veterans Day. The team will wear special camo jerseys thanks to Ontario International Airport and host a postgame live jersey auction benefiting Bob Hope USO Ontario.
The Last Time We Met:
San Jose is the only team to hand the Reign a regulation loss this season, defeating them in the last meeting, 4-2, on November 1 at San Jose.
Budaj Backstops Reign:
Goaltender Peter Budaj earned his AHL-leading fourth shutout and league-tying seventh win of the season in the Reign's last outing, a 4-0 win over the Stockton Heat on Saturday in Stockton, California. Budaj made a season-high 38 saves. Prior to Saturday, Budaj's last shutout came against San Jose in a 3-0 triumph (24 saves) on October 24.
Kempe Climbs the Ranks:
After a hat trick performance last Thursday against San Diego, forward Adrian Kempe finds himself tied for ninth among AHL rookies with eight points (four goals, four assists).
Shutdown Specialists:
For the fifth game in a row, the Reign head into a contest with the AHL's best penalty killing unit, operating at 93.9 percent (three power-play goals against on 49 chances).
Ooooooo Barracudaaaa...:
The Barracuda have one win in their last six contests (1-4-0-1) and look to snap a two-game skid.
