Seattle Reign FC News Release
TACOMA, WASH. - Reign FC announced today that it has signed New Zealand forward Rosie White through the 2019 season. White recently returned from the Women's World Cup in France, where she started all three matches for the Football Ferns. White was signed to Reign FC's senior roster and will utilize an international spot.
"We're happy to add Rosie to our squad," Reign FC head coach Vlatko Andonovski said. "She brings valuable experience, both in our league and in the international game. I think she can integrate well with the offensive system that we have in place and I am excited to work with her."
The Auckland native began her professional career with Liverpool in 2015, following time with UCLA in college. In 2017, White reunited with former Liverpool coach Matt Beard by signing with the Breakers. White made 22 appearances and scored four goals while in Boston.
The 26-year-old was selected by Chicago with the 7th overall pick in the 2018 NWSL Distribution Draft. White made 12 appearances and scored one goal for the Red Stars in 2018. White did not re-sign with Chicago after the 2018 season, which made her eligible for discovery by other teams in the NWSL.
White made her senior national team debut at the age of 15 in 2009. She made her 100th appearance for the Football Ferns in May in a friendly against the U.S. Women's National Team.
The New Zealand international will join Reign FC immediately and is expected to be available for selection in Reign FC's upcoming World Cup Homecoming Match on Sunday, July 28 at 1:00 p.m. PT against the Chicago Red Stars.
