Portland (7-2-1, 22 pts.) won the first two matches of the series by one goal, with last game's 0 - 1 victory in Seattle coming on a penalty kick that Sinclair converted in the 84th minute.

Despite the penalty, Seattle looked strong throughout the match, creating more scoring opportunities than Portland. They look to build on those chances and the ones they created in their last game against FC Kansas City to earn their first three points of the season.

Portland will be without forward Alex Morgan (U.S.), midfielder Christine Sinclair (Canada) and defender Rachel Buhler (U.S.).
