New Mexico Scorpions News Release
[ RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-The Central Hockey League released its annual "Best of the Best" poll today. Konrad Reeder, Aaron MacInnis and Chris Robertson were given accolades from their peers. The annual poll is voted on by CHL players, coaches and operational staff from all 17 CHL teams.
Reeder in his second season of professional hockey was recognized as the CHL's best skater and penalty killer along with being the third best stick handler. The Vanderhoof, B.C. native is currently third in the league with 88 points, including 57 assists.
Known for his offensive prowess, he has shown skill at both ends of the ice, validated with the recognition as the top penalty killer. Reeder has turned the great play in his own zone, when his team is short a player, into offense by scoring six shorthanded goals and two shorthanded assists this season.
MacInnis is making his second straight appearance in the "Best of the Best" poll. His great slap shot has been recognized as the league's hardest, a category he placed third in last season.
All season long the Scorpions have looked to Robertson to win key face-offs. With his high rate of success, the center was named the third best draw man in the CHL. Robertson just received the Sher-wood CHL Player of the Month award for February with his 27 point and +17 plus/minus rating performance.
