Florence S.C., - The USA Baseball Collegiate National Team will travel to Sparrow Stadium at Francis Marion University to face the Florence RedWolves on June 27, at 7 p.m.
"The support our organization has from Francis Marion University, our sponsors, and fans has allowed us the opportunity to host the National Team," said RedWolves General Manager, Jamie Young. "The overall great experience the National Team had last year with our facility and fans was a big determining factor in the team choosing to come to Florence once again."
Florence is one of many stops the Collegiate National Team will make in late June as they tour the Coastal Plain League. The Collegiate National Team is making its second appearance in Florence, after they defeated the RedWolves 9-0 in 2013.
The USA National team will face the High Point-Thomasville HiToms on June 23, followed by a game in Fayetteville against the SwampDogs on June 24. On June 25, the tour will take the Collegiate National Team to Wilson to face the Tobs, followed by a game on June 26 against the Columbia Blowfish. The Florence RedWolves will host the next stop on June 27, and then the tour shifts to Morehead City for a contest with the Marlins on June 28; and concludes on June 29 in Hampton, Va., versus the Peninsula Pilots.
Florence area sensation Warren Stone will also be performing a post-game concert presented by Vivid Network Solutions. Stone was a contestant on season four of the hit NBC show The Voice.
The game will be presented by Five Star Chevrolet along with co-sponsorship from Chase Oil, BP, Groucho's Deli, Little Caesars, Chick-fil-A, Moseley's Outdoor Power Equipment, and M&M Printing/M2 Marketing and Promotions.

The Coastal Plain League is the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 18th season in 2014, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. The CPL has had over 1,200 alumni drafted and 68 of those - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut; while another notable alum - Russell Wilson - won Super Bowl XLVIII.
