Dayton Dragons News Release

Dayton, Ohio - Cincinnati Reds pitcher Justin Dunn will start for the Dayton Dragons on Sunday, June 26 on a Major League injury rehabilitation assignment. Dunn will become the fourth Reds player this season to complete a rehab assignment with the Dragons, joining Joey Votto, Luis Castillo, and Jake Fraley. Additionally, Albert Almora, Jr., who is now with the Reds, spent a week with the Dragons on a rehab assignment earlier this season while on the Triple-A (Louisville) roster.

Sunday's game will start at 1:05 p.m. at Day Air Ballpark in the heart of the Water Street District as the Dragons battle the Lake County Captains, affiliates of the Cleveland Guardians.

Dunn was acquired by the Reds in March in the blockbuster trade that sent Jesse Winker and Eugenio Suarez to the Seattle Mariners. The Reds received four players in return, including Dunn and current Dragons pitcher Connor Phillips. Fraley also joined the Reds in the deal.

Dunn, returning from a shoulder injury, last pitched on June 17, 2021 with Seattle. He has made 25 major league starts over a three-year career, all with the Mariners, going 5-4 with a 3.94 earned run average. Dunn was originally signed by the New York Mets as a first round draft pick in 2016 out of Boston College.
