FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (29-34) won an offensive shootout against the Lincoln SaltDogs (30-33) by a score of 15-8 on Wednesday night at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, ND.

The 3,863 fans in attendance got their money's worth as they witnessed an offensive outburst by the RedHawks in which they put up 15 runs on 13 hits. Eight of those hits were for extra bases as the RedHawks had seven doubles and a home run. Fifteen runs is the second most they have put up all season.

The RedHawks got off to a good start when Jesse Hoorelbeke knocked in two runs with a double in the first inning. Lincoln responded with four runs of their own in the top of the second inning, but Fargo-Moorhead was not to be outdone as their offense took off scoring in four consecutive innings and racking up eleven runs in that span, building a 13-7 lead.

The SaltDogs added a run in the seventh and the RedHawks put up two more in the eighth to arrive at the 15-8 final score. Lincoln had a solid offensive night as well, racking up three doubles and twelve total hits. Curt Smith was their leader as he went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs batted in and a run scored.

Fargo-Moorhead had a well-rounded attack as only one player was held hitless and five different players had multi-hit outings. Manager Doug Simunic named Zach Penprase as the catalyst in his post-game interview though. Penprase scored three runs and had a three-run home run, all in the first four innings. Mike Coles scored three runs as well while going 2-for-4 with two doubles. Hoorelbeke had a strong outing too, knocking in four runs on a pair of doubles.

Zach Ward picked up his fourth win of the year. Alex Maestri received the loss after allowing ten runs (seven earned) on six hits and two walks in only 3.1 innings.

The RedHawks will play the final game of their three-game series against the Lincoln SaltDogs on Thursday afternoon. Game time is set for 12:30 pm. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling 701-235-6161, online at www.fmredhawks.com, or at the Ticket Office during business hours.
