Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
SHREVEPORT, LA - The Shreveport-Bossier Captains, presented by U-Auto Pull-It Auto Parts, announced today that they will recognize the men and women who protect and serve the City of Shreveport and surrounding communities. We live in a country where our freedom is provided under the Declaration of Independence and is secured by the members of the military that serve in the United States and around the world.
Likewise, we live in a community that is protected and served by men and women who ensure that our safety and emergency needs are met every day. We best know them in their roles as police officers, firemen, paramedics, state police troopers, sheriff's department and the list goes on. Regardless of their gender or particular function, they are the very lifeline in communities such as Shreveport and in every city or town in America.
Wednesday, July 27 will be "Public Safety Appreciation Night" at Fair Grounds Field when the Captains honor the employees of each department of public safety with complimentary tickets. With valid department identification
current and retired employees will receive 4 free reserved tickets for the game against the Grand Prairie Air Hogs. The ticket program is available to Police Departments, Fire Departments, EMS Services, Drug Enforcement Agency, FBI, U.S. Marshal, U.S. Secret Service, and Sheriff Departments, within the City of Shreveport-Bossier and outlining communities.
"It takes a very special individual to be willing to put their own safety on the line while protecting others", Captains general manager Chet Carey said. "The Captains extend our hand and welcome emergency service personnel to our ballpark in a sincere thank you for their effort".
After this home stand the Captains travel to Fort Worth to begin a short three-game series against the Cats before returning home on Tuesday, July 26 for a six-game home stand against Grand Prairie and Amarillo. Season tickets and single-game tickets are available for purchase in-person or over the phone by visiting the Captains Executive Offices at 2901 Pershing Boulevard at Fair Grounds Field or by calling (318) 636-5555. VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express accepted.
