
RedHawks Take Comeback Win, 8-7

Albuquerque, N.M. - The Oklahoma City RedHawks (41-55) rallied from a 6-2 deficit with a four-run seventh inning before a Tommy Manzella two-run home run in the eighth inning for an 8-7 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes (50-46) before 7,491 Monday night at Isotopes Park.
The RedHawks snapped a three-game losing skid with the victory, and improved to 4-1 in Isotopes Park in 2011. Entering Monday, Albuquerque had the most home wins in the Pacific Coast League, posting a 30-17 home record.
Reliever Sammy Gervacio (3-0) picked up the winning decision, giving up one hit in one and one-thirds innings. Starter Nelson Figueroa did not factor in the decision after allowing six earned runs and nine hits in six innings. Albuquerque reliever Justin Miller (1-3) took the loss after giving up the two-run home run in the eighth inning. Mickey Storey (2) gave up a ninth inning solo home run, but saved the game.
Oklahoma City took an early lead against Albuquerque starter Joe Newby in the second inning. J.R. Towles reached second on a throwing error by shortstop Dee Gordon and scored on a Tommy Manzella double for a 1-0 lead.
Albuquerque took the lead in the bottom of the second inning against Figueroa. Trayvon Robinson walked before Russ Mitchell belted a two-run home run into the left field bullpen for a 2-1 Isotopes lead.
The Isotopes added three runs in the third inning. Dee Gordon reached on a fielder's choice, stole second and third base and scored on a wild pitch for a 3-1 game. A.J. Ellis later walked and scored on a Jerry Sands two-run home runs for a 5-1 score.
The RedHawks got back on the board in the fourth inning when J.R. Towles belted a solo home run, his second straight game with a home run, for a 5-2 score.
Albuquerque added a sixth run in the sixth inning when Jay Gibbons singled in Gordon with two out for a 6-2 lead.
The RedHawks rallied to tie the score at 6-6 with a four-run seventh inning. J.B. Shuck doubled in Wladimir Sutil and Luis Durango for a 6-4 game. Drew Locke later tripled in Shuck for a 6-5 score. Locke later scored on an Anderson Hernandez sacrifice fly for a 6-6 tie.
Oklahoma City took the lead for good in the eighth inning. Koby Clemens led off with a single and scored on a Tommy Manzella two-run home run to left field for an 8-6 lead.
Trayvon Robinson hit a two-out, solo home run in the ninth inning for an 8-7 final.
