Weitzman originally signed with the RedHawks in 2008 and went 8-2 with a 3.03 ERA that year. He was named the Northern League Rookie Pitcher of the Year that season. In 2009, Weitzman was 2-3 with a 5.55 ERA in 13 games (eight starts) and was a member of the 2009 Northern League Championship team.
Seaman was released after going 1-1 with a 5.75 ERA in eight games (seven starts) for the RedHawks. Dwyer was signed by the team in Rockford as an extra arm due to back-to-back doubleheaders against the RiverHawks.
