
RedHawks Run Away with Win

The Oklahoma RedHawks overcame an early 4-0 deficit to defeat the Tacoma Rainiers 9-4 Sunday at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The RedHawks scored at least one run in each of the first six innings as the scored nine unanswered runs.
Tacoma (47-62) scored four runs on five hits and two walks off starter Edinson Volquez in the top of the first inning. The Rainiers didn't score again the rest of the game.
Trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the second, Oklahoma (54-52) scored three runs on three hits and three walks to tie the game at four. The RedHawks scored two runs in the third to take a 6-4 lead.
The RedHawks added single runs in each of the fourth, fifth and six innings to increase their lead to 9-4. Jason Botts finished the game, going 4-for-4 with 2 RBIs to lead the way for the RedHawks. Tug Hulett and Adam Fox each had two hits, including a triple apiece, as eight of nine RedHawks had at least one hit.
Edinson Volquez (3-0) settled down after the first inning to earn the win, allowing four runs on eight hits in five innings. Jason Davis (0-1) couldn't hold an early 4-0 lead as he took the loss, allowing seven runs on 10 hits in 3.1 innings.
