RedHawks Run Away with 9-2 Win over Sky Sox

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Drew Locke drove in three runs, Brett Wallace added three hits with two RBI and Lucas Harrell delivered seven strong innings leading the Oklahoma City RedHawks (54-66) to a 9-2 win over the Colorado Spring Sky Sox (54-66) before 7,516 Friday night at RedHawks Field at Bricktown.

Harrell (3-1) allowed two earned runs on 11 hits, but did not allow a walk while striking out five in the win. Billy Buckner (4-7) gave up seven earned runs and seven hits with three walks and five strikeouts in the losing decision.

Oklahoma City opened the scoring in the first inning when Luis Durango walked, stole second base and scored on Brett Wallace single for a 1-0 score. The RedHawks added a second run in the second inning as Jake Goebbert doubled and scored on an Oswaldo Navarro double for a 2-0 score.

Colorado Springs added a third inning run when Ryan Rohlinger singled and scored on a two-out double from Ian Stewart for a 2-1 score.

The RedHawks added two runs in the third inning. Drew Locke drove in Chris Johnson and J.R. Towles with a single for a 4-1 OKC lead.

Oklahoma City added three runs in the fifth inning. Jose Vallejo doubled in Brett Wallace for a 5-1 score. Vallejo later scored on a Locke sacrifice fly for a 6-1 advantage. J.R. Towles walked, stole second and scored on a Goebbert single for a 7-1 lead.

The RedHawks put the game away with two more runs in the sixth inning. Wallace singled home Lucas Harrell for an 8-1 advantage. Jose Vallejo beat out a fielder's choice and Anderson Hernandez scored on a throwing error by the second baseman for a 9-1 score.

The Sky Sox scored again in the seventh inning when Scott Beerer singled and scored on a Rohlinger double for a 9-2 score.
