Express starter Martin Perez went 5.2 innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits. Cody Eppley, Merkin Valdez and Tanner Scheppers all pitched in relief without giving up a run. ROUND ROCK AMONG TOP PCL TEAMS
The Express (69-50, .580) own the PCL's second-best record, one game behind Sacramento (70-49, .588), which has lost five straight. Round Rock is three-and-a-half games ahead of Omaha (65-53, .551) in the overall American Conference standings. Nine of 16 PCL teams are at or above .500, five of which are in the American Conference.
DIVISION STANDINGS UPDATE
Round Rock (69-50, .580) maintained its nine-game lead over Albuquerque (60-59, .504) in the American Southern Division standings. While the Express lost to Tacoma 3-2 Wednesday night, the Isotopes fell to Salt Lake 10-7. The Express are 32-19 since June 18, during which time Albuquerque is 21-30. Round Rock has at least shared the division lead following 97 of 118 games this season and has led the division outright since June 25. MAGIC NUMBER: 17
Entering tonight's game, Round Rock's magic number for clinching the PCL American Southern Division title is 17. The magic number represents the number of Express wins or Albuquerque losses necessary to clinch the division title. The earliest Round Rock can clinch the title is Aug. 20 vs. New Orleans.

Express manager Bobby Jones enters tonight's game with 1,498 career managerial wins - all of which have come in the Texas Rangers organization. His tally includes stints with Class-A Charlotte (1988-1990), Double-A Tulsa (1991-1992, 1996-2000), Triple-A Oklahoma City (1993-1994, 2002-2010) and Round Rock. Jones' most successful season at the Triple-A level was 2004 when he led Oklahoma City to 81 wins and the PCL American Southern Division title. He owns 12 division titles and guided the 1998 Tulsa squad to a Texas League championship.
