Tonight's Game-- One day after Mike Hessman etched his name in franchise history, the RedHawks will look to continue to their 11-game home win streak against Iowa at 7:05 p.m.

Last Night-- Mike Hessman belted three home runs as the RedHawks defeated the Cubs 6-5 for the RedHawks' 11th straight home win. Hessman's first hit was a single in the first inning as part of a two-out rally capped by a Brad Snyder RBI single to give the RedHawks an early 1-0 lead. With the RedHawks ahead 2-1 in the third, Hessman led off with a homer-a line drive that was just a few feet fair down the left field line into the first couple rows of seats. Angel Sanchez provided an RBI groundout later in the inning to make it 4-1. However, Sanchez would commit a critical error in the fourth that allowed a pair of runs to score for the Cubs, cutting the lead to one. Hessman fixed that with his second homer in the fifth, another shot to the back of the bleachers in left field to make it a 5-3 game. After the Cubs plated two runs with two outs in the seventh to tie the game, Hessman responded with a bomb off the LED board off Jeff Beliveau (1-3) to put the RedHawks in front for good. Enerio Del Rosario (1-1) and Jose Valdez (S, 13) combined to retire the final seven Iowa hitters.

Tonight's Probable Pitchers-- Brian Bass makes his second start as a RedHawk after a stellar debut...On Wednesday against Nashville, Bass tossed six scoreless innings to lead the RedHawks to a 7-2 win...He allowed five hits and one walk and stranded a runner at third base three times...After beginning this season with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korean Baseball Organization, Bass signed with the Astros on May 27...Last season he spent the entire year with the Phillies' Triple-A affiliate in Lehigh Valley, going 8-11 with a 3.81 ERA...He made a career-high 28 starts to lead the league and also ranked third in IP (158.1) while leading the team in strikeouts (105)...Bass has made 101 career Major League appearances, going a combined 9-7 with a 5.16 ERA with the Twins, Orioles, and Pirates...Cubs pitcher Chris Rusin has been the leader of Iowa's rotation in 2012...The lefty leads the team with four wins and 63.2 IP, and his 3.53 ERA ranks ninth in the PCL...Six of his 11 starts have been quality starts and he's lasted six innings or longer eight times...Rusin was named PCL Pitcher of the Week, May 7-13 after he allowed one run and eight hits over 14.0 IP in a pair of wins.

Hessman's Place in History-- Yesterday Mike Hessman became the fifth player in team history to hit three home runs in a game and the first since Chad Tracy in 2010. Hessman had one previous three-homer game on April 20, 2008 with the Toldeo Mud Hens against the Louisville Bats (4x5, 5 RBI). He is the active leader in career minor league home runs with 362.

Turn It Up To 11-- Last night, the RedHawks won their 11th-straight game at home. It's the second-longest home winning streak since the team moved to Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in 1998. The RedHawks won their final 13 home games of 1999 as well as the first two of 2000.

Eleven Heaven-- The RedHawks are 11 games above .500 for the first time since July 19, 2010 when they were 52-41. It's the earliest they have been 11 games over since a 15-4 start in 2008 and it's their best record through 57 games since 2005.

Seven Ain't So Lucky-- The RedHawks have not won seven straight since April 7-13, 2008. The current six-game win streak is the sixth once they've had since then.

Outhit, Not Outclassed-- Yesterday the RedHawks outhit an opponent for the first time in 11 games. In the previous 10 games, they were outhit six times and had the same amount of hits as the opposition four times. They've won each of the last three times they've been outhit.

Staying in the Zone-- Through the first six games of the homestand, the RedHawks have issued just eight walks, including two intentionally. Their 150 walks for the season is the lowest total in the PCL.

Keeping it in the Park-- The RedHawks have allowed just four homers in their last 13 games at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Andy Gonzalez's homer for Nashville on Friday was the first one the RedHawks pitching staff had allowed in six home games, spanning 49 consecutive innings.

"RedHawks North"/"Cubs South"-- The current Iowa Cubs roster features three players who suited up for the RedHawks earlier this season or last season: Brian Esposito, Diory Hernandez, and Ryan Rowland-Smith. Brad Snyder spent parts of the last three seasons with the I-Cubs, and Scott Moore played there in 2006-2007 as well as last season.

Against the Cubs-- The RedHawks have won six straight home games over the Cubs dating back to last season... They went 10-6 against Iowa in 2011 despite being outscored by six runs...These teams played eight one-run games, with the RedHawks winning seven of them...The RedHawks also defended their home turf, winning seven of eight...It's a good thing Scott Moore plays for the RedHawks now since he hit .405 against the OKC pitching staff last season...These teams next meet June 27-29 in Des Moines.
