TONIGHT: The Oklahoma City RedHawks will try to halt their longest losing streak of the season, 3 games, in the second of a 4-game series in Omaha. The Royals took the series opener 4-2 last night, limiting OKC to 4 singles to match the RedHawks' season low. OKC remains in first place in the American South, 1 game up on Albuquerque. Omaha is second in the American North, 3.5 back of Nashville. Derek Holland, who sports the lowest ERA above Class A (see table below), will start for OKC tonight in his first career appearance against Omaha. Righthander Gaby Hernandez gets the start for the Royals.

SETTING THE PACE: OKC leads the PCL with 148 runs, 13 more than second place Albuquerque. The RedHawks share the league lead with Las Vegas in home runs (27), while first in triples (13) and second in on-base percentage (.362) and slugging (.463). OKC is third in team batting (.288).

FROM THE MOUND: OKC's 3.27 ERA is second behind Nashville's 3.06. Derek Holland leads the PCL in ERA at 0.53, while Michael Kirkman is eighth at 2.12. Brandon McCarthy, on the DL with a stress reaction in his right shoulder, is 10th at 2.51.

CASE FOR THE DEFENSE: OKC has made 11 errors in its last 6 games (at least 1 in each contest), going 2-4 in that span while allowing 11 unearned runs. For the season, the RedHawks are 7-8 in games with an error and 8-2 when error-free.
