ROUND ROCK, Texas - A two-run first and a four-run seventh helped the Round Rock Express defeat the Nashville Sounds 6-2 in Tuesday afternoon's Pacific Coast League's action at The Dell Diamond. The Express (9-16) picked up their first back-to-back victory of the season and took the 2-0 lead in the four-game series with the Sounds (16-8).

Collin DeLome's two-run double in the bottom of the first erased a 1-0 deficit, and the Express never trailed again. Chris Shelton capped the four-run seventh with a two-run home run.

Express starter Josh Banks (2-3) earned the victory, allowing one run in 6.2 innings with a strikeout and three walks. T.J. Burton induced a fly out for the final out of the seventh, stranding runners at second and third as the Express clung to a 2-1 lead. Yorman Bazardo gave up a run in the eighth before Roy Corcoran pitched a perfect ninth.

Marco Estrada (1-1) was saddled with the loss, allowing two runs - one of which was earned - in 6.0 innings. He struck out eight with one walk. David Johnson gave up four runs on four hits in the seventh.

Edwin Maysonet walked in the first and reached second thanks to a Nashville error on Brian Bogusevic's fielder's choice. After Shelton singled to load the bases, DeLome delivered the game-deciding two-run double.

Drew Meyer led off the seventh with a triple and scored on Jason Bourgeois' RBI single. Maysonet followed with a single, and Bourgeois scored on a wild pitch before Shelton's homer. It was Shelton's team-leading fourth homer of the season and his third in four games. Round Rock has eight home runs in the last five games after hitting eight in the season's first 20 games.

Shelton (2-for-4, two RBI), Maysonet (3-for-3) and Meyer (2-for-4) led the offensive attack with multiple hits.

Round Rock and Nashville continue their four-game series Wednesday with a 7:05 p.m. CDT first pitch. The Express send lefty Polin Trinidad (0-0, 4.12) to the mound, opposed by Sounds' lefty Chuck Lofgren (4-1, 4.33).

The Round Rock Express, owned and operated by Ryan-Sanders Baseball, LP, is the Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros and a member of the Pacific Coast League.
