Tonight's scheduled starting pitchers:

RH Bryan Corey (3-2, 4.75) vs. RH Mike Burns (7-2, 2.69)

TONIGHT: The Oklahoma City RedHawks continue their longest homestand of the season with the third of a 4-game series with the Nashville Sounds (Milwaukee Brewers). The series is even at 1-1 after Nashville's 14-3 win last night. OKC is 2-3 on the 11-game homestand. Nashville has won 10 of its 12 and leads the American North Division by 5 games over Iowa. OKC is third, 2.5 games back of Albuquerque in the American South. Reliever-turned-starter Bryan Corey will make his third straight start for OKC and fourth in his last 5 appearances. Righthander Mike Burns, sixth in the league with a 2.69 ERA, gets the start for the Sounds.

SOUNDS EVEN SERIES WITH BIG BATS: Nashville matched its season high for runs in a game and set its high with 19 hits in a 14-3 win over the RedHawks last night at The Brick. For the second straight game the Sounds had 2 triples. They hit for a team cycle in a 5-run first inning off Elizardo Ramirez (3-6) who allowed 9 runs on 10 hits in 4 innings for the loss. Chris Cody (2-1) went 8 innings for the win in his third Triple-A start. The 11-run margin of defeat matched OKC's largest of the season, joining a 14-3 loss 2 weeks ago tonight in Albuquerque.

FIRST INNING RUNS: The 5 runs allowed by the RedHawks in last night's first inning set a season high for runs by an opponent in the first, surpassing a 4-run opening inning by Omaha April 21 in a 15-9 OKC loss.

SATURDAY STRUGGLES: The RedHawks bring a 2-8 record in Saturday games into tonight's contest. Their only Saturday wins are in the first of a doubleheader May 30 vs. Albuquerque and the first Saturday home game of 2009, an 8-3 win over Memphis April 18.

BORBON'S STREAK ENDS: Julio Borbon's 6-game hitting streak ended last night. He had also collected multiple hits in each of his previous 4 games. Last night marked only the 15th time 63 games he'd been hitless in 2009. Borbon has been held hitless in consecutive games three times, but has not been blanked in 3 straight games this season.

FROSTAD'S JUNE: Emerson Frostad is batting .345 in June (20-for-58) with 5 doubles, a triple, homer, and 10 RBIs. He's raised his average from .200 to .282 this month.

ARIAS EXTENDS STREAK: Joaquin Arias has hit safely in 4 straight and 11 of his last 12. He has multiple-hit games in 3 straight. After batting .197 in April and .222 in May, Arias is hitting .329 (23-for-70) in June.

HINCKLEY READY FOR WORK: Reliever Mike Hinckley has appeared in each of the last 3 games, pitching a combined 4.2 innings while allowing 2 runs (1 earned). It's the first time all season an OKC pitcher has worked 3 straight days. Last night, he went 3 innings while throwing 45 pitches, his third-highest OKC pitch total.

LEADER: Esteban German re-gained the club lead in stolen bases with 19 last night. It was German's first stolen base since June 4. German is tied for fourth in the PCL in on-base percentage at .426 and third in walks with 44.

SHOWDOWN ON ESPN2: The fourth Bricktown Showdown at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark will take place Sept. 22 at 6:05 p.m. CDT and will once again be televised live on ESPN2. The Bricktown Showdown is a one-game Triple-A Championship matching the playoff champions of the PCL and the International League.
