Reddox is second former Thunder to play in NHL

STOCKTON, Calif. - Left wing Liam Reddox, who played 70 games with the Stockton Thunder last season, made his National Hockey League debut with the Edmonton Oilers tonight against the St. Louis Blues.

Selected in the fourth round (112th overall) by Edmonton in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and in his second professional season, the 5-foot-10 and 180-pound Reddox has 19 points (6g-13a) and a +6 rating in 22 games with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.

Last season, the 21-year old scored 26 points (8g-18a) with a +3 rating in 70 games with the Thunder, tallying 49 penalty minutes. Reddox amassed a seven-game scoring streak from March 17-30 last year, scoring 11 points (4g-7a) in that span and had three points (2g-1a) in six Kelly Cup Playoff games with the Thunder.

Reddox is the second former Thunder player to play in the NHL, joining defenseman Bryan Young who made his debut in 2006-07 with Edmonton (at Anaheim on Mar. 9). Reddox is the sixth former ECHL player to play his first NHL game this season. He joins former Johnstown Chiefs and Fresno Falcons goaltender Dmitri Patzold (San Jose on Oct. 7), former Reading goaltender Jonathan Quick (Los Angeles on Dec. 6), former San Diego goaltender Tyler Weiman (Colorado on Oct. 4), former Charlotte right wing Craig Weller (Phoenix on Oct. 4) and former Phoenix RoadRunners center Daniel Winnik (Phoenix Coyotes on Oct. 4).

Host of the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game and festivities on Jan. 22 and 23, the Thunder has led the ECHL in attendance for two consecutive seasons and drew 244,085 fans to Stockton Arena in 2006-07.
