DAYTON, OH - Goaltender Martin Houle stopped 38 shots and earned the No. 1 Star of the Game but it was not enough as the Wheeling Nailers fell 2-0 to the Dayton Bombers Friday at the Nutter Center. Bobby Chaumont's goal at 12:03 of the third period was the game winner.

Wheeling was limited to three shots on goal in the first period and 15 in the game but remained in a scoreless tie into the third thanks in large part to the play of Houle. After Mike Berry and Taylor Christie had chances on rebounds in the low slot, the puck finally came to Chaumont who slid it home with less than eight minutes remaining in regulation.

As the Nailers pulled Houle in favor of the empty attacker in the final minute, Matt Beaudoin scored on the empty net with just 19.9 seconds remaining in the game. Yanick Tifu and Masahito Nishiwaki were credited with assists on the play.

Rejean Beauchemin stopped all 15 Nailers' shots for his first shutout of the season.

The Nailers return to the ice on Saturday to face the Royals in Reading, PA at 7:05pm. They return home on Sunday to host the Elmira Jackals. The game starts at 6:05pm and kids' tickets are available for just $5 all December long.
