Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
The PawSox twice rallied from three run deficits on Saturday afternoon, only to come up short, falling in Rochester, 6-5. The Red Wings jumped on starter Fabio Castro, scoring three runs in the first two innings. Pawtucket scored single runs in the fourth and fifth. The Wings made it 5-2 with a pair of tallies in the sixth. Pawtucket got busy with a pair of runs in the seventh and another in the eighth. A final run in the eighth for Rochester spelled the difference. Fernando Cabrera (0-1) gets the loss.
Luke Hughes was the hero for the Wings. He had 3 rbi doubles, including the game winner. He also walked with the bases loaded, to finish the day with 4 rbi. Aaron Bates, Daniel Nava and Angel Sanchez, the bottom third of the batting order, had two hits apiece. After winning the first two games of the season, the PawSox (3-6) have dropped 6 of their last 7.
The series continues on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. Lefty Mike Maroth (0-0, 0.00) faces Michael Bowden (0-0, 3.00).
