Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
The Rochester Red Wings had made just 2 errors in their first nine games of the 2010 season. On Sunday, 4 Rochester errors lead to 4 unearned runs for the PawSox, and as a result, a 6-3 Pawtucket win. In the third inning, an error by third baseman Matt Tolbert allowed Angel Sanchez to reach base. Sanchez later scored on a home run by Josh Reddick, his first of the year. In the fourth, after catcher Wilson Ramos muffed a pop fly, Aaron Bates took advantage, singling to rightfielder Jacque Jones. Jones fumbled the ball, allowing Bates to get to second base. Bates eventually scored on a Dusty Brown double. In the fifth, Reddick got on board on a Jones error. He scored, as did two others on a two run double by Tug Hulett.
Michael Bowden was on a 65 pitch limit. The last pitch he threw wound up as a home run for Wilson Ramos. Bowden allowed two runs in three and a thid innings. Robert Manuel (1-0), Kris Johnson, Dustin Richardson and Fernando Cabrera (S,2) mopped up.
