
Red Wings to Honor RIT Mens Hockey Team on May 17

Rochester Red Wings News Release
The Rochester Red Wings announced today that they will honor the RIT Men's Hockey team at Frontier Field on Monday, May 17, when the Red Wings battle the Louisville Bats at 7:05 p.m.
The 2009-2010 RIT Men's Hockey team, the only NCAA Division I program in Rochester, made their first NCAA Division I Men's Championship Tournament appearance in school history and a trip to the Frozen Four in Detroit, Michigan.
The Tigers were led by head coach Wayne Wilson who was named the 2010 Spencer Penrose Award winner, given to the Division I men's hockey national coach of the year. As part of RIT Appreciation Night, any fans wearing RIT gear will receive $1 off the purchase of their tickets at the Frontier Field box office.
As part of a pre-game ceremony, Head Coach Wayne Wilson and RIT President Bill Destler will be on hand to accept a key to the city and a proclamation from Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks.
RIT captain Dan Ringwald will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
