Rochester Red Wings News Release

GAME NOTES:

-THE LEAD: The Wings slugged three home runs in a four-run fifth inning and cruised to a 6-3 win in the series finale on Father's Day at Frontier Field to complete the four-game sweep of the Gwinnett Braves. The Red Wings have now swept two, four-game series (also LHV, May 27-30) at home this season for the first time since 2006. The Wings tied a season high with their fourth straight and moved within four games of Norfolk in the wild card standings... Rochester finished 7-1 against the Braves this season -- their first season series win over a Braves Triple-A affiliate since 2006.

-The Wings set a season-high with nine extra-base hits Sunday -- 6 doubles and 3 homers. Chris Colabello and Doug Bernier were the only two with multiple extra-base knocks... The Red Wings' three home runs in the 5th inning are the most in any inning since at least the beginning of the 2012 season... Jeff Clement and Dan Rohlfing hit the 4th back-to-back homers this season for Rochester and Clement has been a part of three of them. The Braves' Tyler Pastornicky and Joey Terdoslavich answered with back-to-back solo homers in the 6th. It was the third time the Wings have allowed back-to-back homers this season and the second time in as many starts De Vries has yielded them.

-Dan Rohlfing continued his incredible start at Triple-A going 2-for-3 including his 2nd homer in 16 games with the Red Wings on Sunday... Prior to his May 28 promotion, Rohlfing had just 6 home runs in 1,162 career at-bats... The 24-year-old is hitting .407 (22-for-54) with 9 RBI in his first 16 games with the Wings.

-Chris Colabello wrapped up the homestand in impressive fashion going 2-for-4 with a double and a home run... He finished the homestand 12-for-24 (.500) with 2 homers, 3 doubles and 9 RBI in 6 games... His solo homer in the 5th gave him his 50th RBI of the season as he has now picked up at least one RBI in 15 of his last 17 games with Rochester... He extended his home hitting streak to 17 games while batting .469 (31-for-66) with 5 HR and 20 RBI over that span.

-The bullpen combo of Blake Martin and Michael Tonkin, both Triple-A rookies, posted 3.2 scoreless innings of relief to help Cole De Vries win his 2nd game of the year -- both have now come against Gwinnett. Tonkin earned his 2nd Triple-A save and has yet to allow an earned run over his first seven Triple-A appearances with the Wings... Meanwhile, Martin has allowed just one hit over his first 7.0 scoreless innings with Rochester.
