TONIGHT'S TWINBILL: After a marathon 16-inning affair on Saturday night, the Wings open a 5-game, 4-day series against the Buffalo Bisons (Blue Jays) with a doubleheader tonight at Frontier Field. First pitch of Game One is set for 4:05 p.m. Both games will be 7 innings. Despite last night's loss, the Wings are still 8-3 over their last 11 games and sit in 2nd place in the IL North just 2.5 GB of Syracuse . Rochester still owns a 2.0-game lead in the Wild Card over Columbus and Indianapolis. Buffalo - in 3rd place in the North (6.0 GB) - has won 8 of their last 13 games since these two teams met in Buffalo two weeks ago.

LET'S PLAY TWO: Today will be the Red Wings' 6th doubleheader of the season -- having gone a league-best 8-2 in twinbill games so far. The 8 wins in doubleheader games are three more than any other team in the IL . Rochester has swept twinbills against SWB (4/8), LHV (4/12) and CHA (6/4) this year while splitting with PAW (4/17) and BUF (6/21). Meanwhile, this will be Buffalo's 7th doubleheader of the season as the Bisons have gone 5-7 over their first six.

- The Red Wings were a league worst 3-7 in doubleheader games in 2013.

FOR STARTERS: LHP Kris Johnson gets the nod in Game One for Rochester making his 16th start of the season and 6th at Frontier Field where he is 4-0 with a 2.20 ERA in 5 starts...Over last 27 GS at Triple-A, Johnson is 12-5, 2.34 ERA (43 ER/165.2 IP)...RHP Mark Hamburger makes the start in the night cap - his first with the Wings and second this season (6/27 @ NH). Hamburger - just promoted to Rochester for a second time this season on Sunday morning - spent all of 2013 with the Independent St. Paul Saints where he went 6-8 with a 3.26 ERA.

ON THE OFFENSIVE : Over the last 7 games, the Wings have scored 61 runs (8.7 R/G) on 91 hits (13.0 H/G) -- including 39 extra-base hits and 11 home runs (6 of which have come w/ runners on base). The Red Wings are hitting .322 (91-for-283) and have been even better with RISP batting .337 (30-for-89). Rochester has also had 9 innings in which they've scored 3 or more runs over the last week.

DOUBLE DUDES: After 6 more doubles last night, the Wings have collected 32 doubles over their last 9 games and have 71 doubles over their last 25 contests to move into 1st in the IL with 187 on the season (12 more than any other team in the league . 3B Deibinson Romero leads ROC with 23 doubles - which is good for T-3rd in the IL. Romero is on pace to be the first Red Wing to collect 30 doubles in a season since David Winfree in 2009. The Wings rank T-5th in triples with 18 and T-11th in home runs with 57.

- The Wings have collected at least one extra-base hit in 45 consecutive games...2013 high was 45 straight w/ XBH

HOME COOKIN': The Wings have won four of their last five at Frontier Field and now own the tied for best home record in the IL (SYR) at 30-16 . Only Sacramento of the PCL has a better home mark in all of Triple-A at 33-15. Over their last 92 home games (since 5/27/13), Rochester is 61-31 (.663). After scoring 8 or more runs in 6 of their last 7 home games, the Wings are now averaging 5.13 R/G (236 R/46 G) at the friendly confines of Frontier Field compared to just 3.93 R/G (169 R/43 G) on the road. The Wings pitching staff has pitched to a 2.89 ERA at home with all 8 of Rochester's shutouts coming at Frontier Field.

BOTTOM-THIRD PRODUCTION: The bottom third of the Red Wings lineup has delivered over the Wings' 7-game offensive tear, combining to hit .376 (35-for-93) with 9 doubles, 2 triples, 4 home runs, 22 runs scored and 20 RBI...Over the last 4 games alone, the 7-8-9 hitters are 23-for-57 (.404) with 7 doubles, 2 triples, 3 homers, 12 runs and 15 RBI .

MORE ABOUT LAST NIGHT...:

- The Red Wings played their longest game (5 hours & 27 minutes) since August 5, 2012 at Toledo (a 10-9 win in 19 innings that lasted 6 hours & 32 minutes).

- Saturday night's game was the longest game in terms of time of game in Frontier Field history. Last night's game broke the 5-hour and 5-minute game from May 9, 2011 vs. LOU (a Wings 7-6 win in 18 innings).

- 14 pitchers combined to throw 509 pitches thrown (323 strikes) to 139 batters.

- The Wings allowed only two walks in 16 innings.

- Both teams combined to leave 26 runners on base & go a combined 7-for-38 (.184) with RISP -- ROC was 3-for-17 w/ RISP and left 14 runners on base.

- LHV's Sebastian Valle was the only starter not to record a hit (0-for-7; 2 SO) for either team.

- The Wings committed 6 errors (leading to 4 unearned runs) the most in any game since at least the 2004 season.
