Eugene Emeralds News Release
EUGENE, OR - Freedom, fireworks, and baseball. How much more American can it get than with America's National Pastime on the Fourth of July. Grab your family and head over to PK Park to watch your Eugene Emeralds take on the Vancouver Canadians for the Red, White & Bach: Fourth of July Fireworks with special performances by the Oregon Bach Festival. After the game, fans are able to enjoy the Fireworks Extravaganza with musicians from the Oregon Bach Festival to cap off a patriotic filled celebration!
During the game, the Eugene Emeralds and Kendall are proud to feature The Eugene Mission as the Kendall Community Spotlight. The Eugene Mission is a Wellness Shelter for the homeless providing free emergency shelter, meals, clothing, furnishings, and social services for around 600 men, women and children each and every day.
The Mission also has a one-year residential relapse prevention "Life Change Program," which is offered free-of-charge to men and women who are committed to leaving a life of homelessness and addition once and for all. Fans will be encouraged to stop by the Eugene Mission's table on the concourse for more information, speak to a Life Change member, and sign up to volunteer.
"We are honored and so thankful to the Kendall Auto Group and the Eugene EMS for featuring the Eugene Mission and hosting our Life Change Members tonight," said Dana Gray, Senior Director of Operations at Eugene Mission. "This is a great opportunity to showcase the Eugene Mission's wellness initiatives and to provide a fun outing for our men and women."
This year the Eugene Emeralds proudly celebrate their 60th Anniversary. Since 1955, over 300 Emeralds alumni have made it to the Big Leagues. Our rich history includes players like Mike Schmidt, Bob Boone, Tom Gordon, Eric Davis and most recently 2014 AL Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber. For the 2015 season, the Emeralds have made a major affiliation change by signing with the Chicago Cubs. Season tickets, mini plans and group tickets for 2015 can be purchased at www.EmeraldsBaseball.com, by phone 541-342-5367 and in person by visiting the Emeralds Box Office located next to PK Park. Individual game tickets are on sale now.
