PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced that they have waived Ricky Davis.

Davis, 32, a veteran of 736 NBA games in a career that began in 1999 as the first round selection (21st overall) of the Charlotte Bobcats, averaged 8.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 11 games played for the Red Claws as he sought to earn his way back to the NBA.

The Red Claws will take on the Erie BayHawks Sunday afternoon at 12 PM. The game, originally scheduled for 5 PM, was moved to an earlier start time to accommodate the New England Patriots AFC Championship game.

Maine Red Claws - 2011-12 marks the third season for the Maine Red Claws, the minor league affiliate of the Boston Celtics, Charlotte Bobcats and Philadelphia 76ers. The NBA D-League team plays its home games at the Portland Expo Building. The franchise is owned and operated by Maine Basketball, LLC, which is principally owned by Bill Ryan Sr., the retired chairman of TD Bank, and Bill Ryan Jr., owner and operator of Oxford Plains Speedway. Jon Jennings, a partner in Maine Basketball, LLC and former Boston Celtics assistant coach, serves as the team's president and general manager.
