Veteran Point Guard Brings NBA, NBA D-League & International Experience to Maine PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, today announced that they have acquired guard Andre Barrett. Barrett is expected to join the Red Claws following the 2013 NBA Development League Showcase next week.
The 5-9, 173 lb. guard out of Seton Hall has extensive experience including 67 games in the NBA with six different NBA teams between 2004-05 and 2007-08. He also played in 105 NBA Development League games where he was named All-NBA D-League First Team in 2006 and was an NBADL All-Star in 2008. He last played in the NBA D-League in 2009-10, averaging 19.3 ppg and 6.7 assists in 26 games with the Idaho Stampede. Barrett took his career overseas last season, playing in France.
The Red Claws host the Erie BayHawks tonight at the Portland Expo and will return to action tomorrow night vs. the visiting Canton Charge. The team will then join the rest of the NBA Development League in Reno, NV for the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase next week.
