
Skyforce Acquires Saunders from Vipers

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Jan. 4, 2013) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired forward Damian Saunders from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in exchange for center Hassan Whiteside.
Saunders averaged 5.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 11 games (four starts) with Rio Grande Valley this season. He averaged 10.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks in 29 games (21 starts) for Rio Grande Valley last season after attending training camp with the Houston Rockets. The 6-8, 214-pound forward was named Atlantic-10 Defensive Player of the Year following his junior and senior seasons at Duquesne University.
