Ryan Meara's first clean sheet of 2018 helped the New York Red Bulls (7-3-1, 22 pts) to a 0-0 draw against the Philadelphia Union (4-5-3, 15 pts) on Saturday night at Red Bull Arena.
The Red Bulls extended their unbeaten streak to five (4-0-1) consecutive games, and have a home record of 4-1-1 this year at Red Bull Arena.
New York tallied their fourth home shutout in six league matches this year.
With his second-straight start in net, Meara recorded his first league clean sheet of 2018 with two saves.
Meara tallied his first league clean sheet since his rookie season against Houston on May 9, 2012.
Following the draw, the Red Bulls continued to have the best home record in MLS, with the most home wins (88) and points (295). The Red Bulls are 88-21-31 all-time at RBA
Head coach Jesse Marsch improved to 55-34-24 at the helm in New York.
New York is 48-43-23 all-time in the month of May. The Red Bulls have tallied 174 goals and have allowed 162 in the fifth month of the year.
