Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota - In its first game in Minnesota since 2011, the Impact suffered a 2-0 loss, Saturday night at TCF Bank Stadium.
Minnesota United FC opened the scoring in the 52nd minute when Christian Ramirez was found deep in Montreal territory by Ibson. His ensuing shot was partially blocked by Bush but ended up trickling over the line.
Six minutes later, Miguel Ibarra doubled his side's lead with a curled shot, beating Bush to his right.
"We had opportunities, but there was a lack of skill, talent and willpower tonight," said Impact head coach Rémi Garde.
"We weren't efficient with our passing in the first half," said goalkeeper Evan Bush. "We had opportunities, but the mistakes we made were costly. Defensively, we weren't bad, but you need to be perfect when you don't score."
Opportunities in the first half
In the 28th minute, Nacho Piatti came close to scoring the game's first goal, but his shot from inside the box hit the crossbar.
Then, in the 43rd minute, after a missed opportunity from Darwin Quintero, Alexi Gomez's attempt also hit the crossbar.
