Revolution Claim Road Point in 3-3 Draw with Vancouver Whitecaps FC

VANCOUVER, B.C. - The New England Revolution (5-4-3, 18 pts.) played Vancouver Whitecaps FC (4-5-5, 17 pts.) to a 3-3 draw at BC Place on Saturday afternoon. A five-goal second half, including goals from Cristian Penilla and Teal Bunbury, saw the two sides split points.

For a second consecutive match, Revolution Head Coach Brad Friedel deployed a 3-5-2 formation, which gave Brandon Bye - the eighth overall selection in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft - a second consecutive start, his third start overall this season. The rookie recorded his first assist as a professional over the course of a 90-minute shift at right wingback.

Midfielder Diego Fagundez notched his 35th career assist, placing him into a tie with Joe-Max Moore for fifth place all-time among Revolution players. In addition, defender Andrew Farrell became the 41st active MLS player to eclipse 15,000 career minutes played in today's match.

New England will train in Foxborough this week before hosting the club's first midweek match of the season against Atlanta United FC on Wednesday, May 30. The match at Gillette Stadium kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Boston. Fans may also listen on the radio in English on 98.5 The Sports Hub and in Portuguese on 1260 AM Nossa Radio.

Revolution play Vancouver Whitecaps FC to a Draw, 3-3

- The Revolution played the Vancouver Whitecaps FC to a 3-3 draw on Saturday, bringing the club's record to 5-4-3 (18 pts.) through 12 matches of the 2018 regular season.

- New England's all-time record against Vancouver moves to 4-2-3, including a 1-1-2 mark at BC Place.

- With the draw, New England has claimed points in three consecutive matches against Vancouver, dating back to June 18, 2016.

- The Revs now hold a 4-0-2 record when leading opposition at the half.

Revolution Improve on 2018 Record against Western Conference Opposition

- With today's draw, the Revolution are now 3-1-2 against the Western Conference, including an unbeaten 1-0-2 mark in road contests.

- The next time the Revs will square off with an opponent from the opposite conference will be a midweek clash at San Jose on Wednesday, June 13.

Bunbury Scores Team Leading Sixth Goal

- Forward Teal Bunbury found the back of the net for the sixth time this season in the 59th minute of today's contest. The goal puts Bunbury just one score shy of his Revolution single-season high of seven goals.

- The Revs remain undefeated in 2018 when forward Teal Bunbury (4-0-2) scores a goal.

Penilla Notches Fifth Tally of 2018 MLS Season

- Forward/Midfielder Cristian Penilla registered his fifth goal of the season in the 48th minute of today's contest. Penilla trails only Teal Bunbury (6) for most goals among Revolution players.

- Penilla is just one assist away from becoming the first Revolution player to record at least five goals and five assists this season.

Fagundez Adds an Assist; Moves Up Club's All-Time Ranks

- Midfielder Diego Fagundez registered the primary assist, his third of the season, on Teal Bunbury's 59th minute goal.

- With the assist, Fagundez is now tied for fifth all-time in club history alongside Joe-Max Moore with 35 career assists.

Bye Tallies First Career Assist

- Midfielder Brandon Bye recorded the secondary assist on Teal Bunbury's 59th minute goal, his first professional assist.

- Bye has now made eight appearances, including three starts, on his rookie campaign.

New England Takes First Half Lead via Whitecaps Own Goal

- The Revolution were the beneficiaries of an opponent's own goal for the first time this season in the 26th minute of the match. Forward/Midfielder Cristian Penilla played a ball into the box, which was put into Vancouver's net by defender Aly Ghazal.

- The own goal is New England's first time forcing an own goal since Kevin Ellis put a ball into his own net with Sporting Kansas City on Oct. 1, 2016.

Farrell Reaches 15,000 Career MLS Minutes

- In the third minute of tonight's contest, defender Andrew Farrell eclipsed 15,000 career MLS regular season minutes, becoming the 41st active player to hit the 15,000-minute mark. Farrell has now appeared in 171 career matches, including 170 starts, recording one goal and six assists.

- Farrell is one of six players to appear in every Revolution match this season, joining goalkeeper Matt Turner, defender Jalil Anibaba, midfielders Cristian Penilla and Wilfried Zahibo, and forward Teal Bunbury.
