
Record Breaking Crowd Spurs Calgary Hitmen to win over Saskatoon

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen beat the Saskatoon Blades 5-1 Sunday afternoon in front of a franchise record 19,017 fans at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
It's the largest crowd since March 11th of 2005 when the Hitmen drew 18,279 fans to a game against the Red Deer Rebels.
Derek LeBlanc, Ryan White, Brodie Dupont, Steve Covington and Devon Kalinski all scored in Sunday's win as the Hitmen held period leads of 2-0 and 3-0.
The victory also clinched third place in the Central Division, and means the Hitmen will face the Kootenay Ice in the opening round of the WHL Playoffs. The series begins Friday, March 23rd in Cranbrook.
The Hitmen have three regular season games remaining and will play their final home game on Tuesday, March 13th against Red Deer. Game time is 7 p.m.
