More than 16,500 fans packed Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard to see the Sound Tigers win a pair of home games this past weekend. On the heels of a 7-5 road loss to the Providence Bruins Friday, the Sound Tigers beat the Philadelphia Phantoms 2-1 Saturday and the Hartford Wolf Pack 6-4 Sunday to finish last week in sixth place in the East Division with 38 points and a 18-23-1-1 record, including 16-5 at home and 2-18-1-1 on the road.
FRI JAN 28th at PRO, 7-5 L: The teams were a combined 7 for 9 on the power play with the Sound Tigers going 3 for 3. KEVIN COLLEY tied single-game team records with three assists and four points, SEAN BERGENHEIM scored twice, JIM CAMPBELL had a goal and two assists, BLAINE DOWN scored once, CHRIS CAMPOLI had two assists and DIETER KOCHAN made 40 saves. ANDY HILBERT had a three-goal hat trick, PATRICE BERGERON was credited with an empty-netter and had an assist, KEITH AUCOIN had three assists, PAT LEAHY had two assists, DAVID GOVE and MILAN JURCINA scored once apiece and CODY RUDKOWSKY stopped all 11 shots he faced in a 25:29 relief appearance to earn the win for Providence who was 4 for 6 on the power play and had a 47-27 shots on goal advantage.
SAT JAN 29th vs. PHI, 2-1 W: In front of a then-season-high crowd of 8,034, KEVIN COLLEY tied the game in the second period, CHRIS CAMPOLI scored the game-winner in the third period and WADE DUBIELEWICZ made 31 saves as the Sound Tigers won for the first time in regulation since December 15th. They were 0 for 4 on the power play but 7 for 7 on the penalty kill and won despite being outshot 32-20.
SUN JAN 30th vs. HAR, 6-4 W: Playing before a franchise-record 8,475 fans, the Sound Tigers were behind 3-0 10:24 into the game but tied the score by the first intermission on goals by BLAINE DOWN, CHRIS CAMPOLI and SEAN BERGENHEIM. ROB COLLINS made it 4-3 early in the second period, JIM CAMPBELL scored the eventual game-winner just past the mid-point of the frame, ERIC GODARD added an insurance tally early in the third period and WADE DUBIELEWICZ made 26 saves as the Sound Tigers won for the third time in a row at home. The Sound Tigers were 3 for 8 on the power play while the Wolf Pack were 2 for 8 and had a 30-23 shots on goal advantage.
SOUND TIGERS PLAYER OF THE WEEK â C KEVIN COLLEY The New Haven native continued to lead by example with points in all three games last week. Colley tied single-game franchise records with three assists and four points Friday, scored the tying goal Saturday and assisted on the final goal of the game Sunday for a six-point (2g,4a) week. He finished last week fourth on the team in scoring with nine goals, ten assists, 19 points and 124 penalty minutes. In addition to tying ERIC GODARD for the team lead with 43 games played, Colley also led the team with two empty-net goals and had three power-play goals and three first goals at week's end.
THIS WEEK â Three Road Games Mark End Of Tough Stretch The Sound Tigers will finish a stretch in which they play 12 of 15 games on the road by visiting the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins this Wednesday, the Worcester IceCats this Friday and the Lowell Lock Monsters this Saturday afternoon.
WED FEB 2nd at WIL, 7:05 p.m.: This will be the sixth of eight meetings of the teams this season, the fourth and final in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The Sound Tigers are 9-5-1 all-time versus the Penguins, including 2-3 this regular season with all three losses coming on the road. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton finished last week in fourth place in the East Division with 55 points and a 22-13-5-6 record, including 14-7-1-2 at home. Penguins RW MICHEL OUELLET, who finished last week second in the League with 27 goals, has been voted a starter for the Canadian Team at next month's AHL All-Star Classic.
FRI FEB 4th at WOR, 7:05 p.m.: This will be the third of four meetings of the teams this regular season, the second and final in Worcester. The Sound Tigers are 6-3-1 all-time, including 0-2 this season, versus the IceCats who finished last week in third place in the Atlantic Division with 57 points and a 26-15-3-2 record, including 16-6-1-1 home. Worcester D DENNIS WIDEMAN, who ended last week tied for the lead among all AHL rookies with 21 assists, has been voted a starter for the Canadian Team at the All-Star Classic. The IceCats will host the Springfield Falcons this Wednesday.
SAT FEB 5th at LOW, 2 p.m.: This will be the third of four meetings of the teams this regular season, the second and final in Lowell. The Sound Tigers are 7-4-1 all-time, 1-1 with a road loss this season, versus the Lock Monsters who finished last week in fourth place in the Atlantic Division with 56 points and a 26-13-1-3 record, including 15-4-0-1 at home and 7-3 in the last ten games. Lowell C ERIC STAAL, who finished last week with a team-leading 37 assists and 51 points, and RW CHUCK KOBASEW, who finished last week with a team-best 25 goals, have been named to the Canadian Team for next month's AHL All-Star Classic. The Lock Monsters will visit the Portland Pirates Friday.

RW SEAN BERGENHEIM has been selected to play for the PlanetUSA Team, which will be coached by Manchester Monarchs head coach BRUCE BOUDREAU, at the AHL All-Star Classic in Manchester on February 13th and 14th.

THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE
The Sound Tigers will practice at the Rinks at Shelton this Tuesday at 10 a.m. and depart for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton that afternoon. The team will also practice in Shelton Thursday and Friday at 10 a.m. and depart for this weekend's road games Friday afternoon. The Sound Tigers will return home following Saturday afternoon's game in Lowell.
