June 25, 2009 - Texas League (TL1)
Arkansas Travelers News Release

Arkansas Traveler lefthander Trevor Reckling has been selected to compete in the 11th annual Futures Game during Major League Baseball's All-Star Sunday, July 12 in St. Louis. Reckling will represent the Los Angeles Angels organization on the U.S. squad managed by Hall of Fame shortstop Ozzie Smith.

Reckling was the youngest player in the Texas League when he made his first Double-A start as a 19-year-old on May 12. He currently leads the league in ERA (2.52) and is 4-2 with 50 strikeouts in 64.1 innings with Arkansas. The Newark, N.J., native was an eighth-round pick of the Angels in 2007.

Major League Baseball officials collaborated with the MLB Scouting Bureau, MLB.com, Baseball America, USA Baseball and representatives from each Major League club to select the 50 minor leaguers to play in the Futures Game, divided into U.S. and World teams. Almost 40 Futures Game participants have gone on to be Major League All-Stars in the 10-year history of the game.
