Corpus Christi Hooks News Release

CORPUS CHRISTI - Manager Luis Pujols, catcher Jason Castro and relief pitcher Chia-Jen Lo will represent the Astros and the Hooks in the 11th Annual All-Star Futures Game, to be held at Busch Stadium in St. Louis on Sunday, July 12. The game is slated for a 2:00 p.m. EDT start and can be seen live on ESPN2.

Pujols will be a coach for the World Team, while Lo will be a pitcher for the same squad. Castro is one of two catchers on the roster for Team USA. Last year, Polin Trinidad tossed an inning of shutout relief for the World Team.

Castro, Houston's first-round selection in last year's draft out of Stanford, is batting a combined .309 (79x256) with the Hooks and Lancaster JetHawks, with eight home runs and 47 RBI's. He had his season-best 17-game hitting streak snapped by going 0-for-3 in last night's game.

Lo has appeared in 20 games in relief for the Hooks and JetHawks and is a combined 1-0 with 1 save and a 1.35 ERA, with 16 hits, 17 walks and 43 strikeouts in 33.1 innings.

San Antonio pitcher Mat Latos and outfielder Luis Durango were also selected to participate in the Futures Game.
