Everett Silvertips News Release

CRANBROOK, British Columbia - Vince Loschiavo's game winner, 13:02 into the third period, was part of a three goal rally by the Kootenay Ice who rallied past the Everett Silvertips, 5-3 before 2,457 fans at Western Financial Place on Saturday in WHL action.

The Silvertips patched back to back goals in the third period from Patrick Bajkov and Riley Sutter, just 5:52 apart to put the Tips up by a goal for the first time in the evening. Jake Christiansen scored a power play goal late in the second period and the Silvertips poured 40 shots on net.

The Silvertips return home on Wednesday, Oct. 18 vs. Tri-City at 7:05 p.m. at XFINITY Arena (1380 AM / WHL Live / Tips App). Tickets are available at www.everettsilvertips.com/tickets. The Silvertips season long nine-game road trip came to an end at 3-6-0-0.

Jeff de Wit finished Kaeden Taphorn's centering pass at 5:58 of the first for a 1-0 lead, but the Silvertips responded after four squandered power plays with Jake Christiansen's right point shot that snuck through with 3:14 remaining in the second for a 1-1 tie.

First overall pick (2016) Peyton Krebs touched the scoresheet by finding Colton Veloso in the slot for a 2-1 lead with 2:32 remaining after spending 15 seconds with continuous puck possession beneath the goal line.

The Silvertips found their answer just 1:07 into the third period when Patrick Bajkov slammed a Matt Fonteyne centering pass for his fourth goal of the season, and Riley Sutter jammed a pass by Kevin Davis at the net for his seventh goal of the season and a 3-2 lead with 13:01 remaining.

Michael King tied the game for Kootenay on a wrister from the left circle that deflected off Dorrin Luding's glove at 10:51, and after a time-out and draw in the Tips zone, Loschiavo fired Brett Davis' face-off win for a 4-3 Kootenay lead with 6:58 to play.

The Silvertips hemmed Kootenay in their own zone for three minutes afterward, but came up short. Jeff de Wit sealed the game on an empty netter with 1:01 to play in regulation.
