St. John's IceCaps News Release

ALBANY, NY - The IceCaps dropped a 4-3 heartbreaker to the Albany Devils at the Times Union Centre on Friday night.

Albany kicked off the scoring with three straight goals. Shane Harper potted a first period tally, followed by two more in the second from Nick Lappin and Brian Gibbons.

The IceCaps fought back with three markers of their own. Chris Terry potted a league-leading 18th power play goal to break the IceCaps' franchise scoring record with his 62nd point of the season. Zach Redmond and Charles Hudon picked up the helpers on the IceCaps' first goal. Redmond added a marker later in the middle frame off a play from Terry and Nikita Scherbak.

Keegan Lowe potted the equalizer for St. John's 5:26 into the third off of a setup from David Broll and Anthony Camara. Albany took a late lead with a power play goal from Lappin (his second of the night). Zach Redmond couldn't beat the buzzer with a goal just milliseconds too late, as it was waved off by officials post-game.

Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 22 shots for the home team, while IceCaps' netminder Yann Danis turned aside 29-of-33.

The IceCaps take on the Senators in Binghamton tomorrow night (8:35 pm NDT). Catch all the action with broadcaster Brian Rogers at www.stjohnsicecaps.com, KIXX Country 930AM and www.ahllive.com.
