CENTRAL DIVISION CHAMPS!
The Red Deer Rebels are Central Division Champions for the first time since 2010-11 and will have home ice advantage for the opening round of the 2023 WHL Playoffs.
The Rebels have also hit the 40-win mark for the second-straight season, marking the first time that's happened for the team since they did it in three-straight seasons from 2000-01 to 2002-03.

ABOUT LAST WEEK
The Rebels split a pair of games versus the Swift Current Broncos this past weekend at the Peavey Mart Centrium.
Sat. March 18 - The Swift Current Broncos held off a third period surge by the Rebels for a 3-1 road win. Hunter Mayo scored Red Deer's lone goal on a first period power play. The Martensville, SK native is tied for second among all WHL blue liners with 12 power play tallies on the season. Swift Current outshot Red Deer 37-32 on the night and was 2-for-6 on the power play while the Rebels were 1-for-3.
Fri. March 17 - Kyle Kelsey posted his second-straight clean sheet as the Rebels blanked the visiting Swift Current Broncos 2-0 at the Peavey Mart Centrium. Jayden Grubbe (power play) and Jace Isley scored first period goals for Red Deer. Swift Current outshot Red Deer 34-31 and was 0-for-3 on the power play while the Rebels were 1-for-6.
KILLER KELSEY
Rebels netminder Kyle Kelsey has been named WHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending March 19, 2023. The product of Maple Ridge, B.C. recorded a shutout in his lone start of the week, making 34 saves as Red Deer blanked the Swift Current Broncos 2-0 Friday, March 17. The 19-year-old was named First Star of the contest, with 20 of his 34 stops coming in a frantic third period. Kelsey leads all Eastern Conference goaltenders with four shutouts this season, including two in each of his last two starts marking the first time a Rebels goalie has recorded back-to-back shutouts since Rylan Toth in November 2015.
UPCOMING GAMES
Just two games are left in the regular season for the Rebels, both versus the Lethbridge Hurricanes this weekend (Fri. March 25 at Lethbridge, Sat. March 26 at the Peavey Mart Centrium). Both games go starting at 7 p.m. Prior to puck drop for Saturday's regular season finale, the Rebels will hand out their year-end awards for the 2022-23 season.
