CENTRAL DIVISION CHAMPS!
The Red Deer Rebels are Central Division Champions for the first time since 2010-11 and will have home ice advantage for the opening round of the 2023 WHL Playoffs.
The Rebels have also hit the 40-win mark for the second-straight season, marking the first time that's happened for the team since they did it in three-straight seasons from 2000-01 to 2002-03.

ABOUT LAST WEEK
The Rebels have earned points in five-straight games after going 2-0-1-0 this past week.
Sat. March 11 - On an afternoon that the Calgary Hitmen honoured their namesake, legendary pro wrestler Bret 'Hitman' Hart, the Red Deer Rebels tossed their hosts clear out of the ring with a dominant 9-0 win at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Jhett Larson scored three times for his first career WHL hat trick. Kai Uchacz, Craig Armstrong, Jayden Grubbe, Carson Birnie, Mats Lindgren, and Hunter Mayo also scored. Kyle Kelsey made 25 saves for his third shutout of the season. Red Deer outshot Calgary 57-25 and was 5-for-7 on the power play while Calgary was 0-for-4.
Fri. March 10 - The Calgary Hitmen scored in the final second of the third period then defeated the Rebels 4-3 in overtime at the Peavey Mart Centrium. Kai Uchacz (power play), Craig Armstrong and Dwayne Jean Jr. each scored for Red Deer. Calgary outshot Red Deer 39-34 and was 1-for-6 on the power play while the Rebels were 1-for-4.
Wed. March 8 - The Rebels clinched their first Central Division title since 2011 with a 2-1 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the Peavey Mart Centrium. Kai Uchacz and Jhett Larson (shorthanded) scored for Red Deer while Chase Coward earned the win in his first appearance of the season. Red Deer outshot Lethbridge 36-21 on the night while both teams were 0-for-4 on the power play.
UPCOMING GAMES
The Rebels host the Swift Current Broncos for a pair of games this weekend at the Peavey Mart Centrium (both at 7 p.m).
On Friday, March 17 the Rebels will be wearing limited edition "St. Patrick's Day" jerseys when they battle the Broncos. The jerseys will be auctioned off during the game with proceeds going to the Rebels Foundation for Education and Wellness. Watch reddeerrebels.com this week for more details.
The following night on Saturday, March 18, the Rebels and Broncos wrap up their six-game season series. The Rebels are 2-1-0-0 versus the Broncos so far this season. Swift Current enters the week tied with Brandon and Calgary for the final playoff spot in the WHL Eastern Conference.
POWER SURGE
Twice this season, the Rebels have scored five power play goals in a game: January 20, 2023, at home vs. Prince George (8-5 Rebels win) and March 11 at Calgary (9-0 Rebels win). The only other WHL team to score five power play goals in a game this season was the Tri-City Americans versus Swift Current on February 1.
