Rebels Rookie Camp Roster Features Three Central Alberta Players

Red Deer product Keaton Sorensen is one of 41 players who will participate in the Red Deer Rebels rookie camp starting Sunday.
The rookie camp will run in conjunction with main camp, which opened Wednesday and was limited to on-ice testing Thursday. Main camp will resume Friday with 90-minute practice sessions slated for 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Sorensen, a 16-year-old forward, has been listed by the Rebels and last season played midget AAA hockey at Notre Dame College in Wilcox, Sask.
Other rookie campers with central Alberta ties are forwards Foxx Doell of Blackfalds and Jordan Saunders of Olds, both of whom will attend camp on an invitational basis.
Doell, 15, played with the major bantam Red Deer Rebels last season, while Saunders, 16, suited up with the minor midget AAA Red Deer Northstar Chiefs.
The Rebels' training camp will officially conclude with next Wednesday's Black and White game at the Centrium.
The Rebels will host a four-team preseason tournament next Friday and Saturday and will take on the Edmonton Oil Kings and Calgary Hitmen in evening contests. The Kootenay Ice will also compete in the tournament.
