
Rebels Make Deal With Pats

RED DEER, AB - The Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club announced today they have acquired 16-year old forward Brett Miller, 18-year old forward Cody Gross, and the Pats 3rd round pick in the 2009 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft from the Regina Pats in exchange for 20-year old forward J.D. Watt, 19-year old forward Scott Doucet, and the Rebels 4th round pick in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft.
Miller was the Pats 1st round pick, 14th overall, in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft. He has been playing with the Saskatoon Blazers of the Saskatchewan (AAA) Midget Hockey League and he will join the Rebels immediately. At the time of the deal, Miller was 11th in SMHL scoring with 32 points in 25 games.
Cody Gross (Pronounced: GRAWSS) is in his second full season in the Western Hockey League, he played last year with the Prince Albert Raiders. He was the Raiders 7th round pick, 131st overall, in the 2004 WHL Bantam Draft and came out of the Winnipeg Thrashers 'AAA' midget program scoring 29 goals and 32 assists for 61 points in 39 games during the 2005-06 season.
