Rebels Make Deal with Kootenay

RED DEER, AB - Brent Sutter, General Manager of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced today the acquisition of 19-year old forwards Brett Davis and Cameron Hausinger from the Kootenay Ice in exchange for 17-year old forward River Fahey, 18-year old forward Austin Schellenberg, 15-year old prospect Chase Bertholet (Prince Albert Mintos AAA midget), and 17-year old prospect Justin Svenson (Swan Valley MJHL), as well as a 1st , a 3rd, and a 6th round selection in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft, a 2nd round selection in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft and a conditional 3rd rounder in 2022.

Brett Davis is in his fourth season in the Western Hockey League. He is a 6th round pick of the Dallas Stars in the 2017 National Hockey League Draft and played with the Lethbridge Hurricanes prior to his time with Kootenay. Davis has played in 211 WHL games, scoring 55 goals and 65 assists for 120 career points.

Cameron Hausinger is also in his fourth season in the WHL and returns to Red Deer. He has played with the Rebels (2016-17) and the Saskatoon Blades before going to Kootenay. Hausinger has played in 216 WHL games, scoring 42 goals and 44 assists for 86 career points.
