
ICE Complete Major Trade with Rebels; Acquire Two Players, Two Prospects, Five Draft Picks in Exchange for Hausinger, Davis

Cranbrook. B.C. - The Kootenay ICE Hockey Club announced on Friday that it's completed a major trade with the Red Deer Rebels involving six players and a number of draft picks.
The ICE have acquired '01-born forward River Fahey, '00-born forward Austin Schellenberg, '01-born forward Justin Svenson, '03-born forward Chase Bertholet, a 2019 first round pick, a 2019 third round draft pick, a 2019 sixth round draft pick, a 2020 second round draft pick and a conditional 2022 third round draft pick. In return, the Rebels receive '99-born forward Cam Hausinger and '99-born forward Brett Davis.
"We are excited to welcome Chase, Justin, River and Austin to our organization," said Matt Cockell, President and General Manager. "Cam and Brett have been great players for the ICE and ambassadors in the community, we wish them well in Red Deer."
River Fahey is in his first full season in the WHL. The Campbell River, BC native was selected in the fourth round (74th overall) in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft by the Rebels. Fahey has registered one assist in 21 games during the 2018-19 regular season.
Austin Schellenberg is in his second full season in the WHL. The Grande Prairie, Alberta native has recorded one goal and five assists for six points in 19 games during the 2018-19 regular season.
Justin Svenson was selected in the third round (48th overall) in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft by the Rebels. Svenson is from Ile Des Chenes, Manitoba. He has six goals and five assists for 11 points in 15 games with the Swan Valley Stampeders of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Svenson has also played in 19 WHL games with the Red Deer Rebels.
Chase Bertholet was selected in the fifth round (94th overall) in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft by the Rebels. Bertholet, from Thompson, Manitoba, has five goals and 11 assists for 16 points in 21 games with the Prince Albert Mintos of the Saskatchewan Midget Hockey League. During the 2017-18 season, Bertholet scored 30 goals and added 38 assists for 68 points in 36 games with the Norman Wolves in the Winnipeg Bantam 1 AAA Hockey League.
