
Rebels Lose in Overtime 4-3 against Hitmen

CALGARY, AB - The Red Deer Rebels 5-game winning streak came to an end Sunday night in Calgary as the Hitmen defeated the Rebels 4-3 in overtime. The Hitmen have now won 4 in row.
The Rebels got on the board first, Tyson Ness scored on the power play at 6:23 of the first period. The Rebels took a 1-0 lead to the dressing room after the opening period.
In the second, the Hitmen scored three straight. Cody Sylvester, Brooks Macek, and Pavlo Padakin gave the Hitmen a 3-1 lead. The Rebels got one back late in the period. Matt Dumba scored on the power play and it was 3-2 for Calgary after two periods.
The Rebels were able to tie the game up at 10:03 of the third on a goal from Brady Gaudet. A late penalty in the third period gave the Hitmen a man advantage in the OT. Calder Brooks scored a power play goal for Calgary to give them the win.
The final shots were 31-25 for Calgary. The Rebels were 2/4 on the power play, while the Hitmen were 2/5.
