REAL SALT LAKE TO FACE LA GALAXY ON SATURDAY IN 2014 MLS REGULAR SEASON OPENER

Real Salt Lake will officially kick off its 10th season this Saturday, when it will face LA Galaxy in the club's 2014 MLS regular season opener at 8:30 p.m. MT at StubHub Center. Saturday's match will be broadcast live on ABC 4 and ESPN 700 AM.

RSL will hold two training sessions in Utah ahead of traveling to Southern California on Thursday. The Claret-and-Cobalt will train at America First Field in Sandy, Utah at 11:00 a.m. MT on Tuesday and Wednesday. Training sessions are entirely open to members of the media and public.

Real Salt Lake and LA Galaxy last met in the 2013 MLS Western Conference Semifinals, with the Claret-and-Cobalt defeating LA 2-1 on aggregate in the two-legged series. Real Salt Lake has an 11-12-6 all-time record against LA Galaxy in MLS regular season and playoff action. The Claret-and-Cobalt went 1-2-0 against LA in the 2013 regular season and 1-1-0 in the 2013 playoffs. Saturday's match will be newly appointed RSL Head Coach Jeff Cassar's first official game in charge.

RSL TO HOST 2014 JERSEY EVENT TOMORROW AT RIO TINTO STADIUM

Real Salt Lake will host its 2014 Jersey Event on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. MT at Rio Tinto Stadium. RSL will put its re-designed jerseys on sale at the event, which will also feature a walkthrough of the team's newly remodeled locker room and a fan meet-and-greet with RSL Head Coach Jeff Cassar and Claret-and-Cobalt players MF Javier Morales, DF Chris Wingert and DF Chris Schuler.

The first 100 fans at the event to purchase a 2014 Real Salt Lake home jersey will receive a numbered certificate to commemorate the first-ever purchases of the new uniform. The event is part of Major League Soccer's second-annual Jersey Week, a concept celebrating the art, detail and nuance behind every club's jersey.

The March 4 event was only open to a very limited number of Real Salt Lake fans. RSVP's to the event are no longer being accepted.

In addition to celebrating RSL's newly re-designed jerseys, the March 4 event will also commemorate Real Salt Lake's groundbreaking jersey-front partnership with LifeVantage. RSL and LifeVantage (NASDAQ: LFVN) announced last October that they had partnered to form one of the largest jersey-front sponsorship deals in MLS history. The 2014 MLS season will mark this first year that the LifeVantage logo will appear on the Claret-and-Cobalt's jerseys.

RSL DRAWS 1-1 WITH CHIVAS USA IN FINAL PRESEASON MATCH

Real Salt Lake drew its final preseason game of 2014 on Saturday, coming from behind to tie Chivas USA 1-1 on a rainy day at the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup at North Stadium at Kino Sports Complex.

Substitute FW Alvaro Saborio scored in the 70th minute for the Claret-and-Cobalt, which fell behind after Chivas USA FW Erick Torres found the back of the net in the 10th minute.

RSL controlled most of the game, and had the first chance of the match in the seventh minute. Morales had the look, curling a 19-yard free kick over the Chivas USA wall and off the crossbar after he was fouled just outside the area.

Torres scored against the run of play in the 10th minute to put Chivas USA ahead. A Chivas USA trialist whipped in a cross from the left wing, and RSL DF Carlos Salcedo couldn't deal with it, failing to clear in the wind and the rain. Torres pounced on the loose ball in the box, scuffing a shot past onrushing RSL GK Nick Rimando and inside the left post.

Saborio pulled RSL level in the 70th minute. Some great interplay on the right side between Morales, Beckerman, Grabavoy and DF Tony Beltran freed up Morales deep in Chivas USA's third, with the Argentine playmaker dribbling into the area along the end-line before threading a beautiful ball through several defenders and to Saborio just a yard out. The Costa Rican international had no trouble with the straightforward chance, tapping home into the open net with his first touch.

Saborio nearly put RSL ahead in the 76th minute, collecting a ball from substitute MF Luke Mulholland in the right side of the area before turning and absolutely slamming a 10-yard effort past Chivas USA GK Dan Kennedy and off the crossbar. Saborio and Mulholland combined for another opportunity in the 78th minute, with Mulholland sending a cross in from the right side that a diving Saborio nearly got on the end of at the top of the six.

REAL SALT LAKE 2014 SINGLE GAME TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE

Real Salt Lake announced on Monday that single game tickets to all of the Claret-and-Cobalt's 2014 home games are now available for purchase. Fans can buy tickets at the Rio Tinto Stadium box office, over the phone at 801-727-2700 or online at http://www.realsaltlake.com/tickets.

Real Salt Lake will open its home schedule on March 22, when it will take on LA Galaxy at 2:00 p.m. MT at Rio Tinto Stadium. RSL will open the 2014 MLS regular season on Saturday at those same Galaxy, taking on its 2013 Western Conference Semifinal foe at 8:30 p.m. MT at StubHub Center. Saturday's match will be broadcast live on ABC 4 and ESPN 700 AM.

Single game Maverik Mayhem Corner vouchers ($16) will also be made available for fans to purchase beginning later this week. The vouchers can be redeemed in advance at the Rio Tinto Stadium box office for a ticket in the Maverik Mayhem Corner (sections 6 and 7) for all games in the 2014 RSL season ticket package. Maverik vouchers will be offered at Maverik locations across the Greater Salt Lake Area later this week. Real Salt Lake fans have multiple ways to take part in the Claret-and-Cobalt's 10th season, including the option to purchase 2014 season tickets and an array of multi-game ticket packages.

Real Salt Lake 2014 season tickets are still available with great seat locations to be had. Fans can Join the Pride by purchasing season tickets at the Rio Tinto Stadium box office, online at www.realsaltlake.com/tickets/jointhepride or over the phone at 801-727-2700. Becoming a 2014 Season Ticket Holder guarantees the same seats for all MLS regular season home games and additional bonus games for a total of 20 home games. A wide range of ticket packages are also available and descriptions of the plans can be found below.

Pride Starter Pack: The Pride Starter pack allows fans to create their own personalized "mini-plan." Fans can choose three or more regular season home games with the option to alter the number of seats, change sections and adjust price categories per game. Mini-Plans: The Mini-Plan packages include four preselected games with the option to adjust the specific games incorporated via phone. The four game Mini-Plans will be made available to purchase online and start at $88. If you'd like to make adjustments to one of the Mini-Plans please call 801-727-2700. Rivalry Pack (Mini-Plan): The Rivalry Pack consists of four of RSL's greatest rivalry matches of the 2014 season. The matches included are RSL's home opener against LA Galaxy on March 22, RSL v. Portland Timbers on April 19, RSL v. Colorado Rapids on May 17 and RSL v. Seattle Sounders FC on Aug. 16. The Rivalry Pack starts at $93.

Summer Fun Pack (Mini-Plan): The Summer Fun Pack consists of four exciting mid-summer games including Real Salt Lake's Independence Day and Pioneer Day games. The games in the package are: RSL v. Portland Timbers on June 7, RSL v. New England Revolution on July 4, RSL v. Montreal Impact on July 24 and RSL v. New York Red Bulls on July 30. The Summer Fun Pack starts at $98.

Weekend Warrior Pack (Mini-Plan): The Weekend Warrior Pack includes four exciting weekend matchups throughout the 2014 season. The games included are: RSL v. Toronto FC on March 29, RSL v. Vancouver Whitecaps FC on April 26, RSL v. FC Dallas on May 24 and RSL v. Vancouver Whitecaps FC on July 19. The Weekend Warrior Pack starts at $88.

Fall Pack (Mini-Plan): The Fall Pack consists of four key matches in the months of September and October: RSL v. FC Dallas on Sept. 6, RSL v. Colorado Rapids on Sept. 19, RSL v. San Jose Earthquakes on Oct. 11 and RSL's final game of the regular season against Chivas USA on Oct. 22. The Fall Pack starts at $88.
