HARRISON, NJ (March 3, 2014) - The 2013 MLS Supporters' Shield-winning New York Red Bulls announced that they have accepted the resignation of General Manager Jérôme de Bontin earlier today. De Bontin, who oversaw the club's business operations, has departed for personal reasons.

"My assignment upon becoming General Manager of the Red Bulls was to help the club further increase its relevance in the tri-state area. We wanted to improve our performance both on and off the field so that our loyal fans as well as new fans would have a club that lived up to their expectations as the best club in MLS," de Bontin said. "I wish the club and staff success in the upcoming season and the future."

The New York Red Bulls thank de Bontin for his service to the club since he joined in October 2012 and wish him and his family well in the future. The search for de Bontin's replacement is underway.

The Red Bulls will begin the defense of their Supporters' Shield this Saturday, when they face Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place at 7:30 PM ET in their 2014 MLS regular season opener.
