ESPN Deportes Radio Official Spanish-Language Broadcaster for Chivas USA

Club Deportivo Chivas USA News Release


CARSON, Calif. (Monday, 3 March, 2014) - Chivas USA announced today the organization has partnered with ESPN Deportes Radio to become the club's official Spanish-language broadcaster during the 2014 Major League Soccer regular season. A leader in sports talk radio, ESPN Deportes Radio will broadcast all 34 Chivas USA regular-season matches on either KWKW 1330 AM or sister station KWKU 1220 AM.

"We are thrilled to have ESPN Deportes serve as our radio home for Spanish-language broadcasts. Our fans deserve the very best coverage and partnering with ESPN Deportes ensures they will receive superb programming," said Chivas USA President Nelson Rodriguez

"We are very pleased to become 'The Official Spanish Voice' for Chivas USA. Chivas USA enriches our sports programming, and supports our goal of providing quality sports programming to our audience," stated KWKW President Jim Kalmenson.

In addition to broadcasts of the club's games, fans of the Red-and-White will be treated to weekly on-air visits and interviews, where the team's standout players and technical staff will be featured.

The club also announced that Mario Amaya, a 14-year veteran in the sports industry and celebrated commentator in the greater Los Angeles area, has been named Chivas USA's radio play-by-play commentator. Amaya has vast broadcast experience and is well known for having narrated matches in Mexico's First Division and Major League Soccer.
