Real Monarchs News Release
HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs SLC (10-8-5, 35 points, 5 West) is set to host OKC Energy FC at Zions Bank Stadium on Friday, August 30 with kickoff from Herriman scheduled for 8:00 p.m. MT. The match can be seen live on ESPN+.
"College Colors Night" highlights Friday night's contest where fans are encouraged to attend the night's match wearing their favorite college colors to show who they believe is the best school in town. Students can purchase tickets for just $5 with their Student ID card at the box office. Family Packs that include 4 tickets and 4 Real Monarchs hats are also available for purchase for only $32. Fans will also be able to purchase tacos for only $1 each throughout the night. Tickets can be purchased at RealMonarchs.com/tickets or by calling 844.REAL.TIX
The Monarchs suffered a road loss against Orange County SC in its last outing as the California side found two goals before the half-time break and then added a third shortly after the opening whistle of the second stanza. While the Monarchs had some strong chances through MF Maikel Chang and Jack Blake throughout the night, it was DF Kalen Ryden that found the lone Monarchs goal with his second of the season after putting away a headed effort.
Real Monarchs now turns its attention back home when it hosts OKC Energy FC for the second bout between the two of the 2019 season. The two last met back in mid-May, where some late heroics from RSL FW Tate Schmitt stole a point at the death with a goal in the second-half stoppage time. Both Real Monarchs and OKC Energy FC now sit just a point apart from each other the Western Conference Table as the two sides fight to secure a playoff position.
