Real Monarchs News Release
HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs SLC (6-6-3, 21 points, 12 West) returns from its road trip to host Four-Corners rival New Mexico United on Saturday, July 6 at Zions Bank Stadium. Kickoff time is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. MT.
Saturday night's match is highlighted by Red, White & Blue Night. Fans can enjoy an all-you-can-eat BBQ with the purchase of tickets to the game for only $15. Family Packs are also available where fans can purchase four tickets and 4 Fat Boy ice cream sandwiches for just $32. Tickets are available at RealMonarchs.com or by calling 844.REAL.TIX.
Last weekend, Real Monarchs extended its win streak to three when it claimed a 3-1 victory over Tulsa Roughnecks FC. After going down a goal early in the seventh minute, the Monarchs mounted a comeback as MF Masta Kacher found the equalizer soon after, DF Konrad Plewa took the game-winning goal, and FW Douglas Martinez cemented the three points early in the second half. The win pushed the Monarchs up to 12th on the Western Conference table and just one point short of the playoff line.
Real Monarchs SLC now returns home to seek redemption against league newcomers New Mexico United. The two sides faced off in April in a match that saw the Monarchs suffer its worst loss of 2019 by a 5-1 scoreline. MF Jack Blake took the lead early, but NMU midfielder Santi Moar's first-half hat-trick set New Mexico United on the track to take the three points. Saturday's contest will be the first the two play at Zions Bank Stadium, and the third for both sides in the Four-Corners Cup - a tournament that New Mexico United currently leads.
